Our YVT community includes choristers across six different ensembles who range in age from 4-18 years. If your child loves to sing and explore, be creative and expressive, plus love learning musical skills and want to make lifelong friends…. we would love them to JOIN US!
Musical education programs offered by public and independent schools continue to be impacted by COVID-19 and reduced funding. We, like many of you, believe that musical education is critical to a child’s development. We are here to fill this gap!
Vocal Assessments will take place on Sunday May 7th from 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm and on Wednesday June 7th from 4 pm to 8 pm.
We will have open rehearsals for our Dolce, Cantabile and Encore ensembles the week of May 1st. Please contact Clare, manager@youngvoicestoronto.com if you would like to come and try a rehearsal!
We welcome returning choristers, new Primo choristers (JK & SK in 2023/24) and new choristers who have completed their Vocal Assessment to register here.
Vocal assessments are brief, relaxed and give the conductors the opportunity to determine the best ensemble for each young singer. Singers should come prepared to:
There is a $25 vocal assessment fee per singer. Placement results will be communicated to every applicant post-audition, upon review by the Artistic Director and Artistic Team. Participants in the Primo Division are not required to sign up for a placement. If a chorister is not in Grade 1 (i.e. younger than 6 years old), they can use the form to register for automatic placement in Primo.
