Kate McLoughlin, Chair
As an involved chorister parent, Kate has a vested interest in the choir and is committed to the continued success of Young Voices Toronto. Her background includes 15 years in integrated marketing on both client and agency side leading large teams across complex projects. Kate’s personal life has always had a foot in the non-profit sector and here she is dedicated to the incredible ongoing music education. She is frequently seen brought to tears by the sound of YVT performing in concert!
Ashley Hughson, Vice Chair
Ashley is a proud choir parent with a long history of commitment to the arts. As a professional actor and singer since age 8, she has performed across the United States on stage and screen. In her younger years she sang with many youth choirs from primary to university level. Her most recent move to Toronto with her family to support her husband Barry Hughson as the Executive Director of the National Ballet of Canada was also strategic step in furthering her own career. She is thrilled to be a part of such a vibrant arts community here in the city and sees YVT as a key organization in the music education of our children and the future of music in Toronto.
Uma Gopinath, Secretary
Uma joined us as Secretary of the Board in January 2017. She is very keen on bringing her corporate experience of 25+ years to non-profit organizations and is very excited to serve on the Board of Young Voices Toronto. She believes that choral music plays a key role in shaping the skills of children and young adults both in music and for real life.
